dare I post more finishes for the day!??!

Ok, I have had an awesome day of finishing!!!!! This is the last update for the day, I promise!!!! Thanks to EVERYONE who has looked & left comments here or in my email! It sure makes me feel good to know people look & enjoy what I am showing.

This last one of the day is 2 albums. One is for the gal I roomed with at retreat..shhhh...don't tell!!! We will see if she reads my blog! The other is for myself, for the pictures I took at retreat. I recycled my nametag for the cover!!

Meari, you are very welcome for the use of the camera. I was always taught "do unto others" & I sure would have wanted to borrow one in that case!!! It was a pleasure getting to know you!

frames finally made!

I stitched these three pieces over the course of the past 5 years or so. (I actually stitched initials & year on one of them!!) Anyway, my husband just got the frames made for them a few weeks ago & we got them hung in our entry way last week. I am very happy with how they look!! I think they all compliment each other!

Finishing Frenzy

That is what I am calling today. I completed my model for Sassy & Vikki Clayton yesterday, so I decided today is finishing day! I finally got my Perk Up framed. I also am including a picture of the strawberry piece framed. I have a few more things "on the agenda" for the day!!!

Stay tuned!

Tote Bag Transformations

Hi there! We all received a tote bag at the retreat I attended last weekend. We were given a stitched nametag to put on it. These bags were to put all the goodies we received in. Well, let me tell you, I came home with a full bag.

I decided last night, after finishing my model stitching, that I needed to add more to my bag. So, I pulled out all of the block swap blocks that I have! I had more than enough for the bag, so I pulled out a plain bag & transformed it as well. One can never have too many tote bags!!!

Retreat Finishes

Good morning! I am rested now, after a wonderful weekend away!!!!! I went to a stitching retreat this past weekend. Well, actually, it was Thurs.-Sunday!

What a wonderful time! We met a fabric designer, we met a pattern designer, we received enough new free stash to last a life time, we had wonderful times visiting with friends, we shopped, we ate, etc....

We made 2 pieces into finished products. We were to do the stitching for them in advance, to help the time be used more wisely. We made a pinkeep of a cardinal chart. Most people used the same chart, but a few of us used a different one. I was one who used a different one. I used one that I had from Plum Pudding Needleart. It matches the pillow that I made earlier.

The other was a biscornu. I love how it turned out! I used a piece of fabric from Enchanted Fabrics called Siren's Call. It is perfect for this piece!

I am attaching those 2 pictures & I may update more as time allows! Thanks to ALL involved in the retreat!!!!

Framed Strawberry Piece

Ok, some have asked about how I finished the strawberry piece, so I am attaching a picture of it. I haven't given it to my friends yet. I ran out of time, before I went away to the retreat. (stay tuned!!!)

I didn't do anything special with the framing. I thought it was very pretty, as it is!!!

Thanks so much to all who look & comment!

Fresh Strawberries anyone?!?!?!?

Many of you know, I pick strawberries for a good friend in the summer. Well, I decided LAST YEAR that I wanted to stitch a piece for this special couple, but didn't! Well, I found this chart this spring & KNEW I had to do it. It is Strawberry Fields by Plum Pudding Needlearts. I used 14 ct. lambswool aida & the called for DMC colors. I LOVE how it turned out. I am hoping to find a white wood frame for it this weekend. They host a dinner for 2 couples each year during strawberry season. I am hoping to have this ready before then, so they can have it out with the dinner! The strawberries are so yummy!!!!!

cardinal finish

I know this is one I haven't posted. I started & finished it on Sunday. I am not doing a required piece for a retreat I am attending, so this is the one I did in it's place. We will be making pinkeeps with the finished stitching. I love this pattern & I have fabric that matches perfectly. The pattern is from the Winter's Song leaflet, by Plum Pudding Needlearts, that I also did the pillow of. (see earlier posts for that one)

I also finished April of my flip its. I had to put it away. I am out of whitewash floss & I need it for each of the blocks.

I am working on a strawberry piece now, for the man I pick berries for. It is another design by Plum Pudding Needleart. I sure do love Barbara's designs.

Hope all are doing well & I sure do appreciate all that check out my blog & comment on it. Have a wonderful day!!!!

BUSY WEEKEND

Wow! What a busy weekend we had!
We had 2 weddings to go to. Our son was in the one on Sat. The one yesterday was immediately following the worship service. Both were very nice weddings. They each had aspects to them that I really, really enjoyed.

On the stitching side, I did finish my ornament for the SAL for June. I also finished my March flip it bit. I am now working on April.

We had a lot of MUCH NEEDED rain over the weekend. I had to take a few pictures Sat. evening. I am attaching one of them for you to see as well!!

I can show this now

I can show this finish now! It is my model for the month of June. The fabric is Laguna Mist. Mine is 28 ct. lugana. The pattern is Just Married by Lizzie Kate. This was done for a wedding gift for a very special gal we know. I customized the frame by adding the little swirlies on it!
To answer a question from last time, the yellow flower I pictured is on a tulip tree. I love them!!! We have two in our yard. Thanks for looking & for commenting!!!!
