progress

I decided since I had to post a progress picture of my B. Potter on that blog, I would post it here as well, along with the other 2 projects I have worked on this week.
I take small projects with me when I go away from home to babysit, so this week it was Sew Red by Carol at IStitch and my 'mystery' piece. Any one have guesses yet?!?!?!
Have a wonderful week!! The weather here is amazing!!!!!!

weekend start

hi all,
as promised, I started the mystery piece on Friday. I am loving every minute of it thus far. I didn't get a whole lot of stitching time on either Sat. or Sunday, but I feel like I have a real good start on it. It may be enough for some of you to be able to guess what I am working on..... I know I have teased you with it, but that is part of the fun of our stitching hobby....work on something & let others wonder what it is.
The weather is suppose to get gorgeous here this week. We shall see if it happens or not. Have a wonderful week & keep stitching!!!!!

New Project Excitement!

Hi all,
I purchased a series of used charts from someone. She included the left over silk floss with the patterns. I fell totally in love with the floss, but knew I couldn't justify the cost of buying 11 skeins of it for this pattern. I knew there wasn't going to be enough to use hers, so I was disappointed. What to do, what to do???? So, last night, I sat with all of my different cotton flosses & picked colors to match the silks. I was able to match all but 3 very closely. I debated & debated what to do & was quite honestly pretty down about it. When I went to bed, I couldn't sleep. I laid there & thought.....hey, the Christmas Village piece that I just finished used both silks & cottons...why couldn't I do that with this project?!??!!
So, first thing this morning, here I was, picking flosses again. I am planning to use at least the 3 silks that I don't have cotton matches for & maybe others! We shall see as I work on the pattern.
I haven't been this excited about starting a new project for a long time.
To tease you, I will post a picture of my fabric & the flosses tossed on it!!!!! Stay tuned!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Weekend Stitching

Wonderful Monday Morning to you all!
Nothing better than turning the computer on on Monday morning & having a very long, wonderful email from your son who is serving our country. Let me say, I haven't heard from him for over 2 weeks.......makes it even all the more special. If you think of it, pray for him. How hard this is for him....being away for so long....away from his wife, his triplets, his family, etc...
One of the Yahoo groups I am in did a weekend SAL this weekend. We were to pick a project on Friday evening & stitch the weekend on it. We were to stop at Midnight. I decided to start something new, since I had just finished a project.
I chose Snowy Pines by LHN. I stitched it on Earthen Cashel by Picture This Plus. (28 ct) I used the called for dmc colors.
I LOVE this little piece!!!! It has my favorite green in it & the little bear is just adorable. I finished it just before bedtime last night, so I didn't post here.
Have a wonderful week!!!! Thanks for stopping by & most of all for your kind comments! I appreciate each & every one of you!

Springtime Surprise!!!

I went out to take a picture of my crocus today, as I knew the second one on the stem would be in bloom. It didn't disappoint me....it was there, with the first one, in all of it's beauty. I snapped a couple pictures of them, blowing in the breeze.
I then walked further down the driveway to get our mail. Usually, on Saturdays, all we get is junk. Imagine my surprise today when I saw a package from my dear friend Mylene. I had no idea what it could be, as we hadn't talked of trading anything.
She sent me the cutest tulip scissor fob. It is perfect!!!!! It has my initial on it & the colors are my favorite colors!!!!
Thank you so much Mylene....you are so sweet!!!!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!!!!

Sylvia's SAL start

Well, I got a later start on this than most people, but I am caught up now.
I LOVE how this is looking. When I first pulled the colors, I debated about changing them. But, I decided to go with the colors Sylvia had charted it in. I am so glad that I did.
I will put this away now, until April's section comes out.
I am going to start on my next ornament tonight & then go back to a WIP. I have plenty, I just need to decide which one!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!! I leave you with my progress picture & a picture of my one & only crocus!!!!

HUGE THANKS & 2 more finishes

Before I go into my new finishes, I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone!!!!!!!!! Never have I had so many comments on a post before. I am nearing 70 on my Christmas Village finish & it just blows my mind. Thank you!!!!! I even had a comment from the designer of the pattern. That sure made my day!!!!!!! It feels good to hear from the person who designs the patterns!!!
Now, onto my finishes! I had already started the Pear Tree ornament piece, so I finished it first. I then started the He's A Flake piece. This one was so fun to stitch!!! I did pear tree on lambswool linen & I did He's A Flake on Winter Blues by Sassy.
Next up, I am going to work on the cute little monthly SAL that so many people are working on!!! I just need to get my fabric ready & then I can start!!!
I have also been helping my husband all week, in the evenings, which is my main stitching time. He is making a new bed frame for us. It is coming along really nicely. Hopefully, we will be sleeping on our new mattress next week sometime!
Thanks for visiting & have a wonderful weekend!!!!!!!!!

HUGE Happy Dance!!!!!!!!

woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had set a goal of the end of March for finishing my Christmas Village. A couple people commented & or emailed me saying that they thought I could finish it by this weekend. Well, that was all the challenge I needed!!!!!! I have worked on this every spare moment I could. This was all with babysitting all 5 days this week!!!! And..with helping my husband today....he is making a new bed for us.!
So, to have it finished on Sat. evening is a HUGE thrill for me!!!!!
I have never had a project take as long as this one. The main reason it took so long is the bands of white. I would just talk myself out of working on this & do something else. I finally decided to get serious after Christmas & get it done!!!!!
So, here in all her glory, I present a finished Christmas Village by Victoria Sampler!
Thanks for stopping by & all your kind comments!!

Christmas Village Progress

I know of a couple people wondering how I am doing on my CV piece, so I thought I would post a picture today, before I get started on it for today.
I have a goal in mind for the finish date & we shall see how I do!!!! I think it is very attainable.
I also worked on my pear tree yesterday, but I am not posting it. Not enough to bother with!!!
Have a super week. It is sunny & warmer, here in IN. I Love it!!! It looks like spring is coming!!!
