Stitch in Sat.

I am involved in a state wide cross stitch group that gets together once a month to stitch, fellowship & eat!
Well, I hosted the one for April at my house yesterday. The food theme was Baked Potato Bar. Oh boy! Did we have some yummy baked potatoes, with all of the toppings, didn't we friends?!?!!
We all stitched, shared our finishes, showed our WIP pieces & just had a great time catching up on each others lifes. There were 7 of us here & it was a great number of gals. We were able to all sit around the living room without hauling out tables & chairs, etc.... We all had cozy seats to stitch in.
I think the highlight for me was seeing a bunch of mail art pieces that one of the gals brought. I have wanted to do these for so long, but just haven't MADE myself do them. Well, that is going to change, because these are just wonderful!!
I took some pictures yesterday, but since I didn't get EVERYONE'S permission to post them, I won't at this time.
Happy Stitching!!!!!

new way of finishing for me!!

well, I decided to get creative! I combined two finishing techniques to create a new finish!! I combined the cube it style with the pinkeep style to create a bathroom smelly!
I took small finishes that I got doing block exchanges on various groups. I then took a bar of Ivory soap that is lavendar scented. I found a piece of fabric to match the stitched pieces & some pins & WAAAAALAAAAA!!! I have new finishes. I told my son these will look cute in baskets in the bathrooms or bathrooms of those who I decide to give them to as gifts!

piece made into album

I have had many people ask to see my album that I made with the Cherry Pickin' piece, so I took a picture of it & am sharing it.

I love how it turned out & it may be the start of something!!!! I can "see" making these album covers for many of my patterns. I can make an album for each designer & put one of my stitched pieces on the cover. This one is Plum Pudding Needleart, I could do a Bent Creek, a Lizzie Kate, etc..... You get the idea!!!

My husband even thought it was a good idea & he COMPLIMENTED me on it! He said that I always say I have no crafty abilities or talents & he said "look what you did".

Now, I need to get more patterns to fill it!!!!

Thank you so much to all who look & comment! I appreciate you so much!!!!!!

Spring Break Stitching

I purchased this pattern when I visited the LNS with a friend on spring break last week. I loved it so much that I had to start it right away!! Well, I love it even more finished. It is Cherry Pickin' by Plum Pudding Needlearts. It is done on Sassy's sugared coffee aida. I love how it came together. The fabric behind it will be used to make a photo album cover with it.

Thanks to everyone who looks at & comments on my blog! I appreciate YOU so much!!! It encourages me to KEEP STITCHIN'!!!!!!!

I cannot believe......

.....that I forgot to post my Sassy model for the month! WOW!!!! How could I forget that one??? I really struggled with finding the perfect pattern for this particular piece of fabric. I picked one, but my heart wasn't in it. Then, I found this pattern & it POPPED!!!! I KNEW I had to do it. So, here you have it!!!!! It is done on Cheryl's Wild Rose with Carrie's Masquarade (sp) floss!!!

pies, pals, pillows & packages!!!!

This week is spring break, so I do not have to babysit!!!! On Monday, my best friend came over at 8 am, to help my make pillows. I am attaching pictures of 2 of the 3. One is the cardinal piece that I got in my Christmas exhange on one of the boards---THANK YOU JOANN!!! I love how this one turned out!!!! The other is a Lizzie Kate that I stitched years ago.

Before my friend got here, I had baked an apple pie. You see, I had an online friend & her family coming over that night!! We had never met, but I knew they liked apple pie. You can see the pie here also!!!

Monday night, we met the family at a local eating establishment. After we had our meal, we came here & had pie & ice cream!!! The husband & kids stayed a while, then headed back to their motel. She stayed here & we made a cube it & played in my stash!!!!

I received a package of fabric in the mail that day also. Oh, so many pretty colors!!!!!!

As you can see, I had fun with pals on Monday!!!

On Tues, the online friend & I went to the nearest to me LNS!!! We had a blast!!!! I love that shop & she enjoyed seeing a new shop!

When I got home, I had another package in the mail!!! A dear friend had made a gift & surprised me with it!!!!!!!!

Today, I finished my Dear Diary Julia Flynn piece. I wasn't sure about this one as I did it, but as I added the border, it really came together & I love it!!!

Ok, I think that brings me up to date! I hope to stitch a lot more this week!!!!!!
