Father's Day Finish & a RAK

well, I am almost a week late, but I did finish the Father's Day piece. I finished it this morning.
I would have had it done on time, but we had our grandsons here for 11 days again. They are much more important to me than my stitching at that point. I wrapped the pattern, along with the other part of my husband's gift & I told him I would finish it as soon as I could.
Also in the mail this week, I received a RAK from sweet Sue, in one of my groups! What a welcome surprise. She sent me 2 Lizzie Kate patterns that are perfect for me & a piece of PTP aida cloth that will be perfect as well.
We celebrated the boys birthday last weekend while they were up here. Our son was home on his 2 weeks of R & R. The boys won't know the party was a few days early! They will be a year old on Monday. So hard to believe a year has gone by already. They are all so different. They have their own personalities. They are such a joy!!!!

I have a finish thanks to helpers!

I finished up Pie Menu, thanks to TWO helpers!!!!
My good friend Carol (stitching dreams) and my brother Wayne (my hobbies) both helped me out!

I love this finish! I am going to have my husband make a frame out of cherry wood & it will hang with my other 'pie' type finish!
Now, onto the Father's Day Gift & hope I can finish it in time, with 3 little people here!

BUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No pictures today, just a bummer report! I wanted SO BAD to finish Pie Menu this week. Well, I thought for sure last night was the night. As I stitched, I began to worry about the floss. I could tell I was running out. So, it was a race...which would be done first.....the stitched piece or the floss??? Well, the wrong one won the race. I have 48 X's left & I ran out of floss. It is a WDW floss, so I have to either buy online or get to a shop. The closest shop is over an hour away. I don't know that I can justify a trip out of town for that!!!! Especially when I have oodles of other projects to work on....namely the Father's Day gift. So, until I get more floss, Pie Menu gets put away.

Frames, Totes, and updates/progress

Woohoo! The first 4 frames that my husband is doing for Debra S. are done. He finished them last night. We are very happy with the outcome. Debra gave me permission to show them on my blog. The stitching is her work, the frames are my husband's work. (note:the beach ball one is not completed...we are waiting to 'finish' it because it needs a button!)
We have never used spacers or glass in any of my finishes, but I love how these turned out, so I am sure that will be in future projects of mine.
I finally got my "what happens at grandma's" piece finished. I decided a tote bag was the way to go & I love how it turned out. I always tell the boys, "let's get ice cream...where is grandma's ice cream" so the little ice cream buttons are perfect!
I am showing my progress on my Pie Chart & also my 'grandpa' piece. These pictures are as of this am. I am hoping to finish both of them this week!! Time will tell.
