Thanks so much to all who visit my blog & leave comments. It really is a day brightener to see that people enjoy my stitching!

Found a Way to finish this!

I finally found the way that I HAD to finish Alphabet Tree by Blue Ribbon Designs.

So, we hit walmart yesterday & you see the results! I was scared to death cutting my beautiful project, but I love how it turned out!!!

more rocks used

I have had people ask to see the rest of the areas that we moved rocks to. We tackled the large flower bed yesterday. We had it almost done when the storms rolled in. We had very heavy rain & even hail. But, as soon as it stopped, I was back outside. It took a bit of convincing to get my husband out there to help finish, but he did come out & we got it done. I love how it looks!!!! We still have quite a pile of rocks, but he said he is taking today off. So, I will be stitching, instead of moving rocks!!!!
Thanks so much for looking & most of all for your kind comments!!!

Anniversary flower bed complete

Well, I made enough money picking strawberries this week to afford a truck load of rocks! So, they were delivered this afternoon. I immediately got busy on finishing up the anniversary flower bed. My son also helped haul rocks. He was a big help. I had that done before supper. After supper, my husband & I went out & started on an area in front of the porch. This area had mulch in it, but it needed replaced. So..we dug out all the mulch. We re-did the stone liner & then filled the area with rocks. It looks so much nicer.
Tomorrow, we will tackle the large flower area on the other side of the front door. Amazing what you can do with rocks!!!!

more flowers from my yard

I couldn't put the anniversary flowers on the other post, so I will put them here & then some other pictures I snapped while outside tonight. The flowers are all gorgeous right now. The weather has been agreeable for them!!!

Anniversary Flower Bed

Instead of going out to eat or buying gifts for each other, we went & purchased the plants we needed for our new flower bed. We have been wanting to do something to this end of the house since moving in 4+ years ago.
So, last night, we went & got most of the needed plants & I picked up the rest today while out running my weekly errands. Now, we just need to get the landscaping rocks to finish the job!
If blogger allows enough pictures, I will also post the flowers he brought home for me yesterday!

Shouting from the rooftops!!!

After nearly 3 years, yes, I said 3 years, I have my SPYRO piece done!!!!! I started him on July 6th, 2005. He was a UFO for quite some time. I would get bored with grey & put it away & forget about it. My son just kept after me, asking "Mom, when are you going to work on Spyro". So, I would pull him out, work some & then put him back away. I decided this year that he WOULD get done!!!! I didn't quite make my goal, but I finished way before the end of the year!!!!
Now to decide how to frame him!!!
Thanks for looking!!!

Needleroll arrived

I was involved in a needleroll exchange in one of my groups. Well, mine arrived yesterday! I love it!! It fits this season wonderfully! It says summer on it & has chunks of watermelon on it!
Thanks so much Sunni for the great addition to my needleroll collection.
I HOPE the picture will show up ok. I posted a Father's Day gift the other day & had to delete the post, because the picture didn't post correctly. I am going to try to add it to this post as well!
Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

Got to LOVE Goodwill!!!!

Woohoo!!!!!! I went into Goodwill this morning to find a couple pair of denim shorts to wear to the strawberry patch. (just too hot in jeans!!!)
Wow, not only did I find a couple pair of shorts, but what a deal!!!!! I found a WHOLE CART FULL of cross stitch magazines. Not only magazines, but a few hard back books & a few designers charts. Each item was marked 50 cents. I casually said to one of the clerks, "is there a way to get a good price on the entire cart?" I had no clue what kind of price she would get, but she went to ask her manager. She came back & said "how about $20.00?" I said SOLD!!!!!!! One of the books has a sticker price of 19.99 on it, all by itself!!
To give you an idea how many there are, I have 2 of the boxes from like Staples for copy paper COMPLETELY FULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a happy camper!!!!!!

June ornament finished

I finished my ornament for the month of June last night. I LOVE how it turned out!!! I did it over 1 on 25 ct. bone lugana. I really think that is a favorite fabric, if a person can have a favorite!! It works so well for so many projects!!!

This design is from the 2002 JCS ornament issue. It is Making Spirits Bright by Little by Little design co. I didn't put the border on it, but I love it as is!!!! It wouldn't have fit in this tuck with the border & I think the tuck complements it beautifully!

Since I mentioned the JCS ornament issues, if anyone knows of someone with the early issues, I am still looking for them!!!! I believe the 1st one I have is 2000.

Today, it is back to Spyro!!!! My goal is by the end of next week, unless unforseen circumstances interfere!!!!

Have a wonderful day. Stay safe in all these strange weather conditions!

more flowers

The other post would only allow 5 pictures, so here are the rest of my flower pictures. They are all so gorgeous right now. The honeysuckle isn't open, but oh my! Is it ever loaded with blossoms this year!!!

We have a new family member!

Pamela has come to live with us. She is from the UK.

My online friend, Julie, knits these cuties & what an awesome surprise to go to the mailbox today & find a package from the UK. I thought it was my needleroll for an exchange I was in, but nope! This adorable bunny has come to live with us!!!! Julie added a note asking if I have room in my house for Pamela?
Well Julie, what do you think?!?! I think she fits right in!!! Lots of purple & pink in my house!!!
I also went out & took pictures of all my blooming flowers. We shall see how many fit on a post!

THANK YOU SO MUCH JULIE!!!!!!!

A Traveling Finish

I had started Cherry Hill by Country Cottage Needleworks a while back, but put it aside to work on other things.
Well, I decided last week that it would be a great project for in the car. And that it was! I worked on it most of our trip, both directions. I finished it about 3 hours before arriving back home. (we went to see our son & DIL graduate from Basic Training)

I used the called for Crescent Colors floss on plain ole white aida cloth. I really like how the colors show on the white thou.
I think this is going to be my next stitching journal cover!
Thanks for looking!
