February Word Play

I finished this on Monday, but my time is so very, very limited on Monday & Tues. that I did not get a chance to update my blog. I have both boys that I babysit for on those days & I have to take the older one to preschool & anyone who hauls kids around knows that taking a preschooler & a young toddler takes a lot of time!

February Word Play

January Word Play
February's word play took me longer to stitch than January's did. I think part of it was because I enjoyed the snowman on January so much that I just kept stitching. I also wasn't caring for a young toddler when I stitched that one! I have included my January finish so that you can be refreshed on how it looks!
I have now started a pattern I got quite a while ago. I am not sure why I didn't start it immediately! I love it already!
Ok, a question for fellow bloggers!!! I used to be a ONE project at a time person. I then upped it to two or three at a time. Somehow, one year, I went over board & started way too many. I am not one to NOT finish what I start, but this is where I need your help!!!!! How do you regain interest in your older starts when there are so many new projects screaming START ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did some real organizing over the weekend. I got a couple AWESOME bags from Thirty-One. I thought....perfect! I purchased a couple packages of large envelopes. I then found all of my patterns that I had either partially kitted up or fully kitted up & placed them in the envelopes & then labeled the top with the design & the designer. So now, all of these projects that are screaming DO ME are very organized. I wish my WIP containers would fit in this bag, but they are too large. Oh well! I just need to get them done!!!!
Wishing everyone a great week. Hope the weather where you are is treating you nice! Ours has been quite crazy!
Edited: I forgot to mention.....I am willing to sell these patterns as I finish them. So, I now have January & February available for sale. I would like $4.50 for the pattern & I believe shipping in the US would be about $1.50, so $6.00 each in the US. Out of US, I would adjust shipping accordingly!

The Word Play looks so nice on the calendar. I'm just like you that I have way too many WIP's and keep adding with all the new projects that I want to stitch too.

Darned Designers! They keep using their talents to make more and more great charts! Gets me in trouble too! I just set my mind to which one I am going to focus on right now, and do it! I have certain allotted times to stitch too, like lunch at work--thirty or forty minutes most days, then nights from at least 9 to 11, sometimes more if I can TEAR myself off this computer! That's ANOTHER thing--bloggers entice me too! Oh well... love it all! Hugs!

Congrats on the finishes. They look great!!! Don't know what to tell you about having so many projects started. I am in the same boat. When you figure it out let us all know. LOL!!!

Word Play is great! I dedicate 1 day a week to working on a UFO. Try to put in at least 100 stitches on that day. Eventually they all get finished!

Beautiful finish!

What a great way to use these designs.

lol! You're turning into a wild woman....3 projects at a time. ;-)

Super finishes, Shari! I really like the "frame" for your word plays. Did you purchase it like that or did you have it made?

How about stitching WIPs over the weekend? Or set up a rotation of sorts?

I love your word play calendar
It fits perfect, did you make it?
I have always had a problem starting new things, I do eventually get them done
But it's fun to start the new things shouting loudly at me, they always win, lol

Love seeing your Word Plays finished as part of a calendar. What a great idea! I used to be a one at a time stitcher. I still am to a certain extent but have quite a few abandoned projects screaming at me for attention! lol

Great Word Plays. I tend to rotate all my larger WIP's with smaller pieces to keep me motivated - it may take longer to get the large WIP's completed but it stops me from getting bored.

Beautiful finishes, Shari & perfectly finish!!

I can work on different projects at a time but it does needs discipline for it to stop for one or a couple of hours and on to the next..

Very, very cute, Shari!! I just love the idea of using it in your calendar frame, too!! I actually didn't love stitching the January one as much as I thought I would--am rethinking my plan to stitch these each month. We'll see...

I think that is why I'm a one-at-a-time stitcher--I know I would never return to a half-finished piece as I just lose interest in them...

your wordplays look wonderful Shari.

Good luck getting some of the older projects completed, maybe you could use the weekends to work on them one at a time and stitched weekdays on newer things.

I was hoping to see lots of advice of how to fall in love with a piece again. I am a serial starter of the worst degree. My longest piece took 17 years to finish!!! It is a christmas sampler, and I know how long it took because I penciled in my name and the year in the appropriate place on it, but when I finished it I was married and had to rub it all out and put in my new name and date. Once I have left a piece for pastures new I really struggle to go back to it. I do have a couple of larger pieces that I am determined to finish this year though.

Your word plays are very seasonal! How fun. I have several pieces I am working on, but rarely leave any unfinished forever. I did the Castle in the Air pattern and then didn't like the direction the pattern went and so that may never get finished. I probably won't do another piece that I don't know what it looks like before starting it. I know people to dedicate a day to stitch on WIP. Like every Sunday. That way you put a few stitches in it weekly.
