Monday progress photos

Where in the world did last week go?!?! I was so busy, there was barely time to pick up needle & fabric. I feel like I didn't stitch at all.
Monday was so full, I barely had time to breath. Tues, I got up with a migraine, so that kept me still for half a day. Thankfully, it cleared up before lunch. Tues. afternoon & Thurs. morning, I spent out at the strawberry patch. What sad times. My strawberry man is no longer going to do strawberries, so we were clearing out the watering tapes & the plastic. It just looks like a bunch of dirt out there now.
On the stitching front, I did work on my Autumn Harvest and my Monopoly board. Not a lot, but I think you can see progress.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week! It is Monday, so all is well!!!! I love Mondays!!!
Thanks for looking & special thanks to those who comment!!! I love hearing from you & knowing who visits!!!

Good Monday Morning!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know about you, but I love Monday mornings!!! New start to a new week. Fresh start. I know, I am weird!!! But I love Mondays!!!
I have a few things to show & tell about today. First of all, I had a group of friends over to stitch on Sat. We had a wonderful time. There were 4 of us & I think we all made wonderful progress on our stitching, besides catching up. Some of us had not seen each other for nearly 2 years! Way too long girls!!!! We WILL do this again soon!!!!
I worked on my Monopoly piece that morning. I wanted to get the first square done, & then I would start a new project. I just HAD to start this one! I love it so much.
Backing up, I had emailed the girls the night before, asking if they had an idea what time they might arrive. If they were going to be here real early, I was going to run to town, to the farmer's market, to get apples for sauce. Well, the one emailed back & asked how many apples I needed. She has LOTS of apple trees & had apples to spare! So....she was such a sweetheart! She brought me LOTS of apples!!!!
We made 30 pints of sauce yesterday & I have apples on the counter for eating as well!!! What a blessing that was. It saved me so much money.
Thanks to all who look & comment. I know many read & don't comment. That is ok, but I really do love knowing who reads!!! So, I appreciate the comments so much!!! Thanks & have a WONDERFUL MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when you are thrown a curve....

...don't give up! I pulled out my heartstruck friends piece (by Midnight Stitching) this week. I was sure I could easily finish it on Friday. Well, by 5 in the evening, I KNEW I was going to run out of floss. So much for finishing it that evening. But, thankfully, we were going to the LNS the next day. (I only get there twice a year!!!)
So, I set that project aside & pulled out my husband's airplane I am working on. I did some on it, but then it was too hard to see. I told him I couldn't work on it at night.. So, I pulled out a pattern that Elaine had gifted me with the day before!!!! I quickly & easily found a piece of fabric for it & pulled the floss. Perfect together!!!! So, I worked the rest of the evening on Miracles Happen.
We headed up to the LNS on Sat. morning. I stitched in the car, all the way up there. The first thing I looked for when we got there was the floss. Mission accomplished!!! They had one that matched real good.
I then went over to the fabric area. I had called ahead, to tell them I was looking for a real pale green in a 32 ct. evenweave. Well, they informed me they didn't have any. I was crushed. I had my heart set on getting this fabric. She suggested linen & I even looked at a few, but there was no way I could do this project on it. You see, it is for my Monopoly board SAL!!!! So, we found a 28 ct. that is perfect, so I got that. My board will be a bit bigger than the actual board, but hey, at least my fabric looks great!!!!!
I then chose my fabric for my MMIRR neighborhood. I stuck with aida for it, as I think this will be best for my idea.
The fabrics were buy one, get one 1/2 price, so I got the aida for real cheap!!!
I had 3 patterns written down that I wanted to look for, but they didn't have 2 of them & I opted not to get the third.(didn't care for it in person!)
I finished my Miracles Happen piece this afternoon! I need to get little red buttons next time I get to Walmart. I want my trees to be apple trees.
We are praying everyone affected by Ike are safe. Things can be replaced, people can't.
Thank you for stopping by & for commenting. I appreciate you so much!

Blocks received & a finish

Woohoo!!! I have received 2 more blocks for my alphabet quilt. For all my blogging friends who do not know, I started these quilts back in 2004 or 5. I have had people from all over the world working on them. The first quilt is done. (see much early blog post for the finish) I still need 6 blocks for the second quilt. 4 of the 6 have been requested, but I really doubt some of them will be done. I think the people have left the group.
Anyway, Elaine did 2 blocks for me, & I got them yesterday! I am attaching them here, for you to see.
And then, I just finished building my house on Kathy's Neighborhood RR. I love how it turned out. I chose the Autumn House & I love it. Autumn is my favorite time of year. Since I received her neighborhood first, I got to pick from all 4 seasons.
I think I am going to work on my husband's airplane now for a while, but I also may start a small autumn piece for myself!!!!!
Thank you so much for looking & for commenting. Your comments always make my day complete!!!

Lakeside Lodge Grouping

Hi again! When I updated earlier today, I forgot that I had another picture to show you all!!! I finished Lakeside Lodge in April of 2006. But, it sat a long time before my husband got the frame made. Well, the frame finally got made, stained & poly'd. So, this morning, we got the picture hung & a grouping to go with it. I love how it looks together. And the best part of it all....we had all of this stuff on hand already, so I didn't spend a penny to make a nice wall piece!!!
Thanks for looking & have a great weekend!!

Mini Exchange Pack Received!

Oh my goodness!!!!! Was I ever spoiled with the mini exchange I received. Shirl, you outdid yourself!!!!
Not only did Shirl do the little clipboard for me, but she included other goodies. I got a beautiful scissor fob attached to the clipboard. It has a little charm on the end that says: Life is measured by moments. I also got 2 skeins of BEAUTIFUL floss!!!!! ( Cyndi's Prismatic Reflections Virginia Rose & Tranquil Stitches blues,) And on top of all of this, there is a yummy looking candy bar--Lindt intense orange dark chocolate...can't wait to try it!!!!
I feel guilty about what I sent my partner....

My week in a canning jar!

Ok, the old saying is "my week in a nut shell" but my week can be summed up in a canning jar!!!
On Monday, I did my grape jelly. I got 25 jars of yummy fresh, grape jelly for this winter.
On Wed., I did my peach jam. I think I got about 20 jars of that...they are small little jars.
Yesterday, I did my applesauce. I got 12 pints of pretty pink applesauce for the winter.
I think our garden is about done, so I am probably done with tomatoes & salsa, but you never know! I have PLENTY of salsa made for winter.
On the stitching front, I have two finishes to show. The first one is a small exchange piece I did for one of my groups. We were sent the blank mini clip board & we were to decorate it however we would like. I put a magnet on the back of mine & a ribbon on the end. I stitched pansies, because I read that my partner loves pansies!
I have also finished my ornament for the month of Sept. I stitched O Christmas Tree by Follow the Leader Designs. It was in the 2007 issue of JSC ornaments. I made it into a floss tag. These little things are addicting! I love them!!!
Now, I am back to working on Kathy's neighborhood RR house!!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone & thank you so much for stopping by & for leaving a comment. Your kind words mean the world to me!!!!
