when you are thrown a curve....

...don't give up! I pulled out my heartstruck friends piece (by Midnight Stitching) this week. I was sure I could easily finish it on Friday. Well, by 5 in the evening, I KNEW I was going to run out of floss. So much for finishing it that evening. But, thankfully, we were going to the LNS the next day. (I only get there twice a year!!!)
So, I set that project aside & pulled out my husband's airplane I am working on. I did some on it, but then it was too hard to see. I told him I couldn't work on it at night.. So, I pulled out a pattern that Elaine had gifted me with the day before!!!! I quickly & easily found a piece of fabric for it & pulled the floss. Perfect together!!!! So, I worked the rest of the evening on Miracles Happen.
We headed up to the LNS on Sat. morning. I stitched in the car, all the way up there. The first thing I looked for when we got there was the floss. Mission accomplished!!! They had one that matched real good.
I then went over to the fabric area. I had called ahead, to tell them I was looking for a real pale green in a 32 ct. evenweave. Well, they informed me they didn't have any. I was crushed. I had my heart set on getting this fabric. She suggested linen & I even looked at a few, but there was no way I could do this project on it. You see, it is for my Monopoly board SAL!!!! So, we found a 28 ct. that is perfect, so I got that. My board will be a bit bigger than the actual board, but hey, at least my fabric looks great!!!!!
I then chose my fabric for my MMIRR neighborhood. I stuck with aida for it, as I think this will be best for my idea.
The fabrics were buy one, get one 1/2 price, so I got the aida for real cheap!!!
I had 3 patterns written down that I wanted to look for, but they didn't have 2 of them & I opted not to get the third.(didn't care for it in person!)
I finished my Miracles Happen piece this afternoon! I need to get little red buttons next time I get to Walmart. I want my trees to be apple trees.
We are praying everyone affected by Ike are safe. Things can be replaced, people can't.
Thank you for stopping by & for commenting. I appreciate you so much!

Shari Heartstruck Friends looks GREAT! Love your Miracles Happen. Isn't it funny how sometimes you see a design and it looks great but close up you know it isn't what you have in mind. Or vice versa. Can't wait to see what you do with your MM&IRR.

Miracles Happen is just darling. I'm still waiting for my miracle, so there's hope! LOL

I bought the pistachio 18ct aida years back to stitch Monopoly for my DS who collects the games. Someday...

Red buttons for apples sounds so cute!

The stitching looks great. I really love the heart. I am doing the Neighborhood rr too. I was thinking of one of Sassy's colors and Mill Hill villages.
