Kindred Spirits Finished

Hello all!!
In the busy ness of this past week, I was able to finish my Kindred Spirits by Charland Designs piece. I was able to work on it in the car to & from the university on Friday & then on the way home yesterday.
I changed out the green & pink flosses. I recently purchased some floss from an ebay auction & the gal asked what my favorite colors were. (it was a grab bag type deal) I told her greens, purples & pinks. The flosses she sent were perfect for this piece. They were so similar to the dmc called for.
Here is the name of her ebay store:Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe.

We got our son all settled in at school. I do believe he is going to have a great year. This school seems to be the perfect fit for him & he & his roommate hit it off great from the very beginning!
Have a wonderful rest of the holiday weekend!!!!!

Seasons Change..

..and so do so many other things in life! I looked for the song Seasons Change for my playlist, but was unable to find it. I wanted to add it, along with this post.
Many things are changing, besides the season.
One thing that hasn't changed is my love of stitching. I just have not had a lot of time to stitch the past week or two. School is back in session & that means I am back to babysitting. The kids are all the same kids, except a new addition this year. The one family added a 3rd child. I am learning to adapt to his schedule & getting him in a routine.
Another change is getting our youngest ready to leave for college. He did a year at the local community college, then sat out a year to earn money. He is now ready to go to school & live on campus.
What will it be like here, with no children home?
CHANGES!!! They are all around us!
Kitten update: when my husband left for work today, 3 of the 4 kittens were on the porch, waiting for food & water! I think they have adopted us! We still are wondering what happened to the 4th one.
I am posting progress pictures of the 2 projects I have been working on the past week or so. One is my Christmas Village by Victoria Sampler. I am doing it on Sassy's Winter Blues & I love it!!!!!
The other is Kindred Spirits by Charland Designs. I am enjoying this piece so much!!! I am planning to make a grouping of many of these Anne of Green Gables patterns. Stay tuned over the course of time.
Thanks to all who visit my blog & who comment as well!!! I love reading the comments & I love seeing new visitors!!! All are welcome!!!!!
Have a wonderful day today!!

Kitten Update

Well, it was Sunday night that the babies followed us home. Monday am, we saw one of the kittens. We didn't see any more the rest of the day. Monday evening, our neighbor called & asked if we were missing 3 kittens. I told her no, but I bet they were the ones who followed us home Sunday night.
Well, yesterday, my son & his friend were out climbing our huge maple tree. What should come chasing them, but 2 of the kittens. (we learned our neighbors friend took one of them home with her)
Today, I went out to look for the kittens. What should I find?!?!! The mom! And 3 kittens. One of whom we hadn't seen before!! So, there is still one missing. Oh my! The life of living in the country, where people dump their unwanted animals. The mom seems pretty content to lay on our porch, so who knows!
On the stitching front, it has been a pretty crazy week. I have had to babysit M,T,&W, since I have to take Friday off. We take our youngest to college that day.
I am working on my Christmas Village & also a new start ----Kindred Spirits by Charland Designs. It is really looking good! I will post pictures sometime this weekend.

Look what followed us home!

We went for our nightly walk tonight & when we were almost home, I heard "meow" in our field. I said 'there is a kitten in there'. So, I stood there & said here kitty kitty. My husband said, there is more than one kitten. He said there are 2, no 3, no 4. They followed us the rest of the way home. I came in & told my son. Right away, he asked if we had cat food. (we haven't had cats for 5+ years) Well, he found a can of chicken chunks, that became cat food. So, we shall see if they are still out there in the morning!!! We need something to control the mice & chipmunks, but I don't want my beautiful birds to disappear.

Welcome to my Neighborhood!

One of the groups I am involved with is doing neighborhood round robins. There are 5 of us doing aida cloth.
I thought about & thought about what I wanted my neighborhood to look like. I finally decided I wanted all of our homes along a creek, stream, river, etc...
So, the first thing I did was decide that my finished piece is going to be a table runner. I then started stitching the water of the creek. I then added a few rocks, to see what it would look like. Next, I laid out where the 5 houses would go. I then added my house & now I think it is ready to go to the first stop on it's route. I may do more of the creek & rocks if I have time, but if I don't, that is ok, because people can do their houses & I can finish my work after it comes back home.

small, simple finish

After doing a huge project, I decided this week to finish a small project that I started a while back. The pattern was a freebie called Heart Stitcher. It is from www.amonamipierre.net I stitched it on 18 ct. hyacinth aida from Sassy's Fabby's. I used San Man Strands "magic" floss.
I believe I am going to use this for a journal cover picture.
I have also been working on my neighborhood RR piece. It is starting to look a little like something, but not enough to show yet!
School starts here this Friday, which means I will soon be doing daycare again. The summer just flew by!
Wishing everyone a wonderful, stitch-filled week. Thanks for stopping by & for commenting!!! I do appreciate it so much!!!

August ornament is finished

As I always do, I started my ornament for the month on the first. (finished Isabella just in time!!!!)
I chose Thy Works are Good by Gentle Pursuit Designs this month. It was in the 2007 JCS ornament issue.
I stitched it on 25 ct over 1. I made it into a large scissor fob. (can also be an ornament for the tree!!!)
THANK YOU SO MUCH for all of the wonderful comments about Isabella. I was truly overwhelmed by your kind words & thoughts. They mean so much to me!!!
I have told Lauren of Sassy's Fabby's that I must get a piece of that fabric so I can do her for myself!!!!

A Finish!!!

Woohoo!!!!!! I have a finish I can show!!!!!! I have been working on this piece since mid-June.
It is Lavendar & Lace's Isabella's Garden. I did it as a model for Lauren of Sassy's Fabby's. It is done on 32 ct. Garden Medley.
The fabric color makes this design POP in my humble little opinion! It is going to be so hard to put her in the mail, but I must. Maybe this is one design I will stitch again someday. I usually don't do that, but I love this one so much!!
Today I will work on my ornament for the month of August. Can it really be August already!?!?!?
I also have a neighborhood RR to design/layout.
Have a wonderful day & weekend & thanks so much for visiting my blog.
